This course is offered by University of California, Davis. It is designed to teach the fundamentals of SQL and data analysis for data science purposes. To earn the certificate, I needed to earn a passing grade on each of the required assignments (quizzes, programming assignments and the peer-graded assignment).
The course taught me how to:
- identify a subset of data needed from a column or set of columns and write a SQL query to extract the desired data subset
- create and populate data tables
- work with different types of data such as strings, dates and numbers, and use functions to integrate data from different sources into fields with the correct format for analysis
- write both simple and complex SQL queries to select, filter, sort, and summarize data from tables
