Throughout my entire adult life, I have been captivated by the world of data analysis. As a student of applied and experimental physics in college, I delved into the intricacies of collecting and analyzing data from experiments, drawing valuable statistical inferences.
During my master’s thesis on robotics, I had the opportunity to construct a graphical model of a robotic arm and meticulously analyze its movements. Soon after, I embarked on my professional journey by analyzing seismic reflection data to identify potential oil and gas reserves in specific locations.
One of the most rewarding moments in my career came while working on the flight control system for Air Canada. Through careful management and data analysis, we ensured error-free operation, ultimately contributing to the safety and well-being of countless passengers.
After years of successfully managing massive data storage systems and examining their performance trends at IBM, I felt the urge to explore a new frontier – data science and machine learning. Thanks to my strong foundation in mathematical theory from my education and thesis work, I swiftly grasped the intricate mathematical underpinnings of these fields.
To bolster my expertise and prepare for data science and machine learning roles, I pursued a range of DS/ML and Tableau courses. Notable among them were:
- Data Science MicroMasters program at UC San Diego on edX.
- Data Analytics Boot Camp at Butler University.
- Machine Learning Engineer certification from FourthBrain.
- Deep Learning Specialization from DeepLearning.ai on Coursera.
Throughout these courses, I engaged in various data science and machine learning projects, exploring both traditional ML algorithms and deep learning techniques in diverse domains. You can find more details about these projects on my Projects Portfolio page.
Driven by my insatiable curiosity, I relish employing cutting-edge AI/ML technology and the art of data science to extract valuable insights from data. Presenting these insights through captivating and intuitive visualizations became a passion, leading me to create a blog titled Importance of Data Visualization, which was published on this website.
As I continue my journey in machine learning, I have constantly honed my skills, and one aspect of that is the subject of my next blog, The Story About Confusion Matrix Visualization, where I share my personal growth in understanding and visualizing confusion matrices.
The ever-evolving landscape of data science and machine learning never ceases to amaze me. Each day brings forth new tools, techniques, and algorithms. I firmly believe in utilizing the most effective tools for each task, and on my Projects Portfolio page, you can find some of my favorite projects and the tools I’ve employed.
Being part of the data science community has been a captivating and fulfilling experience, and I look forward to embracing the ever-changing challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in this fascinating field.
