The MicroMasters program is a series graduate level courses from University of California San Diego. To earn the program certificate, I had to complete and successfully earn a verified certificate in all four courses listed below.
The program covers mathematical (probabilty, statistics, machine learning) and applied (Python, Numpy, Scipy, Matplotlib, Pandas, Apache Spark) aspects of data science. The program teaches students how to gain new insights from big data by asking the right questions, manipulating data sets and visualizing findings in compelling ways.
Key learnings from the program include:
- loading and cleaning real-world data;
- making reliable statistical inferences from noisy data;
- using machine learning to learn models for data;
- visualizing complex data; and
- using Apache Spark to analyze data that does not fit within the memory of a single computer.
