Greetings! I am a Data Scientist with a rich background in managing and implementing large-scale IT systems.
Throughout my career, I have spearheaded critical projects that have made a significant impact, including:
- Facilitating the transition of Western Geophysical’s (Houston) application from mainframe to Unix platform for Naftaplin in Croatia.
- Successfully deploying the flight planning application LIDO (Lufthansa Integrated Dispatch Operation) for Air Canada by collaborating closely with application developers.
- Overseeing the deployment of IBM backup solution TSM across multiple countries for IBM Cloud locations.
- Managing a comprehensive data backup solution consisting of 40+ backup servers and 4000+ backup clients for Ahthem/Wellpoint.
- Serving as the subject matter expert for implementing and administering the IBM Cloud, which involved deploying numerous massive storage systems across 16 locations in 12 countries.
Due to business changes, my position at IBM was eliminated, offering me a new and exciting opportunity to explore my passion for data science and machine learning. Driven by my interests in computers and science, I have embarked on this journey with enthusiasm.
In preparation for my transition, I have completed various projects, with a few notable capstone projects:
- Language of Proteins: Utilizing pre-trained protein language models to predict whether a given sequence of amino acids belongs to specific researched protein groups.
- Bank Churn Prediction: Developed a dashboard app for bank customers, incorporating predictions from multiple machine learning models to forecast churn rates.
Additionally, I had the privilege of collaborating with an international team at Omdena on the Detecting Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) using Computer Vision project. Our objective was to detect cancer blood cells (ALL) by employing traditional ML models trained on image features extracted through transfer learning with pre-trained CNN models.
